Since being founded as a partnership in 1996 by Jerry Allen & Alan Metcalfe, metcalfeallen have been providing high quality security solutions for homeowners and businesses across the South West of England and beyond.

Having established a wide and varied customer base, Alan attempted early retirement and moved to Spain in 1999. Jerry, along with new business partner Garry Talbot moved the company forward and on 1st January 2001 metcalfeallen became incorporated.

Relocating to Cullompton, Devon in the summer of 2005, and just one minute from Junction 28 of the M5, metcalfeallen now has an excellent base for administration, demonstration and engineering.

Realizing he was much too young to retire, Alan returned from Spain and was welcomed back to the company and is now a key member of the core team along with Sharon Allen who runs the office & administration and Paul Slocombe as chief engineer.

Managing Director - Jerry Allen     

Starting in the security industry in 1983 and completing a three year electrical apprenticeship, Jerry has worked for several regional and national security companies covering CCTV, intruder alarms and access control, amassing a vast amount of knowledge & experience. Having first met Alan whist both working for the same company in 1994, Jerry then worked out of Gloucester and then Bristol for a national company prior to founding Metcalfe Allen with Alan in 1996.

Director - Garry Talbot              

Having had a varied career including working for Taunton Cider and freelance for the BBC both in London & on location, Garry joined metcalfeallen in 1997 as an engineer, becoming a partner in 1998 and subsequently a director in 2001.

Senior Surveyor - Alan Metcalfe

Alan served in the Police force on Merseyside for many years before moving to Hong Kong where he spent 7 years as a corruption investigator. On returning to the UK he became directly involved with the security industry as a system surveyor and consultant. Having first met Jerry whist both working for the same company in 1994, Alan and Jerry kept in touch, subsequently founding metcalfeallen in 1996.

Office Manager - Sharon Allen           

Since taking on the roll in 2007, Sharon has transformed the administration of the company, carrying on the work started By Di Archer who left to return to her home town in Nottinghamshire. Having worked for LloydsTSB Bank for some 17 years and then Somerset County Council, Sharon’s excellent organizational and communication skills ensures that metcalfeallen runs efficiently and smoothly.

Chief engineer - Paul Slocombe 

Paul worked many jobs before settling down as an alarm engineer with a company based in South Devon. Rapidly gaining knowledge & experience in all aspects of electronic security, he joined metcalfeallen who were only glad to help him develop and expand his skills. During his time with the company Paul has helped with the training of several apprentices and continues to carry out 1st class work.
